His medical career began here on Koh Tao with Sub-aquatic Safety Services as a Diver Medical Technician. During that time and as manager of the remote facility on Tao, it became obvious to him that a pre-hospital call out service was required.

To that end, it was off to South Africa to commence his pre-hospital emergency medical training. After a brief return to Tao it was back to the UK where he was operational in front-line ambulance services. Wishing to return to South-East Asia and Koh Tao to finalise the original plan, he continued his training in the Philippines, with which he retains close links with operational and training services.
